The Steinmühle mourns the passing of Dr. Sigrid Pfitzner-Seidel (born Dec. 3, 1932; died July 30, 2026).

After earning her doctorate in Tübingen, teaching at the university in Charlottesville (USA), and completing her teaching internship at the Elisabethschule, Dr. Sigrid Seidel taught German, biology, and chemistry at Steinmühle.

Starting in 1973, she headed the teacher-training program at Steinmühle and was thus responsible for the training of student teachers at our school for more than two decades.

Dr. Sigrid Seidel was an authority in the field of education. She was equally popular and respected among students, student teachers, and her fellow faculty members. She was respected for her constructive, solution-oriented, and substantial contributions. In addition, she was very open to new ideas, both in her field and in education.

Many of her student teachers went on to become faculty members at Steinmühle. As a result, her work had a major impact on the development of Steinmühle as an educational environment for learning and living.

We thank her from the bottom of our hearts for her inspiring dedication.
