Competitive Rowing and Recreational Rowing

The RuS Steinmühle e.V. Rowing Club is dedicated to both competitive and recreational sports.
It was reorganized in the spring of 2013 and is closely linked to the Steinmühle School & Boarding School and its focus on rowing as a school sport.
We train under ideal conditions with modern equipment and highly qualified coaches. In addition to recreational rowing, we also offer training for national and international competitions.
As a result, we have had three athletes compete in the Olympics within just a few years.

Physical limitations are no obstacle! As an inclusive water sports center, the state training center for para-rowing, and a Paralympic training center, we also promote inclusive rowing and have been successfully collaborating with the German Institute for the Blind (blista) for many years.
Another important partner is the Hessian Association for Sports for People with Disabilities and Rehabilitation (Hessischer Behinderten- und Rehabilitations-Sportverband e.V.).
Steinmühle athletes have also won medals at World Championships in para-rowing.

When it comes to boat equipment, we partner with Empacher, a trusted German manufacturer. This ensures that we’re always optimally equipped and well-prepared for competitions in terms of gear.
A weight room with state-of-the-art equipment is always available, allowing us to maintain our fitness year-round, especially during the winter months.
There is also a cardio fitness room with 24 stations.
So anyone who wants to can stay in shape—the equipment certainly won’t hold you back!

Steinmühle Marburg Rowing Talent Academy, Inc.

To ensure optimal preparation for competitive rowing, the Talentakademie Rudern Steinmühle Marburg (TARUS) e.V. was founded for all prospective squad rowers at Steinmühle. Here, we create fair and long-term development opportunities for performance-oriented students—regardless of their social background.
Continuity in all relevant areas, combined with highly qualified coaching, enables us to identify talent early on, provide targeted support, and systematically guide athletes toward top international performance.

The Talentakademie Rudern Steinmühle e.V. (TARUS) aims to systematically promote elite rowing in Germany—particularly in Hesse and the city of Marburg—and to establish it as a nationwide model project. The association is responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing all measures necessary to achieve top athletic performance.
