“Walking along Steinmühlenweg again felt like coming home.”

Michel Hermens’ personal connection to Steinmühle began when he himself was a boarding student there. After returning to his native Netherlands, he initially wanted to become an elementary school teacher, but somehow he found himself drawn back to Marburg. He began training to become a state-certified early childhood educator and chose the Steinmühle boarding school as his internship site. That’s when the decision took shape: This is where I want to work. While working, he went on to study social work and completed his studies with a bachelor’s degree. Michel Hermens sees Steinmühle’s facilities as the ideal environment for sports, which he loves. He often sees himself reflected in the students and is able to build a rapport with them.

Michel Hermens has witnessed firsthand the transformation of the Steinmühle into a modern campus. For him, the facilities and proximity to nature contribute to his quality of life. The social environment is supportive, and the learning center provides valuable assistance with school-related issues. He particularly enjoys tackling challenges in tricky situations. “Because there are always solutions.”
