Hessenhaus on a Trip to the Netherlands with a Side Trip to the Beach
A trip full of unforgettable moments: The Hessenhaus residential group at the Steinmühle boarding school went on their house trip. House Director Michel Hermens shared the following report from one of the students on the trip:
On Saturday morning, we kicked off our adventure with a delicious breakfast together. Well-fed, we set off for the Netherlands at noon. After a drive of just under four hours, we arrived at the campground and settled into our bungalows, which were cozy and had plenty of room for everyone.
A Cozy Barbecue Evening
On the first evening, we had a barbecue together: we had juicy burgers! Afterward, we wrapped up the day with games and good cheer, full of anticipation for what awaited us the next day.
On Sunday morning, we set off for Walibi Holland amusement park. Before entering the park, we were given a quick pep talk: “Stay in groups of at least two, and have fun!” No sooner said than done: we dove right into a day full of roller coasters, action, and unforgettable moments.
A Visit to a Traditional Dutch Snack Bar
That evening, Michel surprised us with a detour to a traditional Dutch snack bar. With our snacks in hand, we strolled on to the beach, where we ate together, chatted, and one of us even bravely jumped into the water. We returned late in the evening, but of course that didn’t slow us down, and we kept playing until late into the night.
Beach Volleyball by the Sea
The next morning began with cleaning up before we headed back to the beach. There, we spent our time swimming, playing beach volleyball, and soaking up the sun until we finally set off for home, feeling satisfied, tired, and full of wonderful memories.
