1. General

The Steinmühle Bilingual Elementary School is a nationally accredited private school. The school is operated by Steinmühle Marburg e.V., located at Steinmühlenweg 21, 35043 Marburg—represented by the executive board members Egon Vaupel and Gerhard Müller. (VR 730 – registered with the Marburg District Court).

2. Schooling Contract

Admission to the Steinmühle Bilingual Primary School is possible if parents or other legal guardians submit a written application to the school administration. The principal makes the final decision on admission.

3. Terms of the Contract

• The contract is valid until the end of 4th grade.
• Either party may terminate the contractual relationship by giving three months’ notice prior to July³¹. Written notice of termination must be submitted no later than April³⁰. The principal exercises the right to terminate in accordance with the school board.
• If a student leaves the school without observing the notice period specified in subsection (b), the school is entitled to receive payment of school fees due through the end of the contract.
• Both parties may, however, terminate the contract under exceptional circumstances and for good cause. Good cause may, for example, include repeated violations of school rules. If termination of the contract becomes necessary due to a student’s behavior, the school’s claim for payment remains unaffected until the time at which the contractual relationship would have ended had the contractual notice periods been observed.
• If a student is required to leave the school during the school year in accordance with applicable school laws, the entire contractual relationship ends at the end of the month in which the legal impossibility of continuing to attend school is legally established and announced.

4. School Conditions

School regulations for state-accredited alternative schools are governed by the provisions of the Hesse Education Act and the corresponding implementing regulations. To be admitted to Steinmühle Bilingual Elementary School, students must meet the school’s legal admission requirements. Admission is conditional until the required measles immunization certificate has been submitted.

5. School Fees

• To enroll at Steinmühle Bilingual Primary School, you must pay a school fee, a fee for before-school care during the open start period, and a meal contribution. Please visit our website for the current school fees.
• School fees and meal contributions are due monthly. The amount is payable in advance at the beginning of each month. The school year begins on August 1 and ends on July 31 of the following year. If a student enrolls during the school year, the annual fees will be prorated accordingly. For months that have already begun, the fee is calculated as 1/12 of the annual fee.
• Invoices are issued in two installments: 5/12 of the annual fee on August¹ and 7/12 of the annual fee on January¹. Monthly payments can be made by direct debit or bank transfer.
• If the contracting party is in arrears on a payment that equals or exceeds two monthly installments, the school is entitled to terminate the contract without prior notice. In this case as well, the claim for payment remains unaffected until the contract’s normal expiration date.
• The school reserves the right to adjust tuition and meal fees in response to rising costs. Any adjustments will be announced in a letter at least three months before they take effect.
