“Backstage” Fall Festival
With late-summer temperatures, numerous visitors were once again drawn to the Steinmühle grounds. For the boarding school community, the fall festival had already begun in the days leading up to it. Full of anticipation, we prepared the grounds and the festival for our visitors. As it is every year, the highlight was the traditional cake-baking event. Every student took to the stove and baked a cake. For some, it was the first cake they had ever baked, but the results were certainly impressive.
On the day of the Fall Festival, you could see us all over the grounds. The residents of the Hessenhaus spent their afternoon selling treats at the cake counter, the guys from the main building served guests grilled food, and the residents of Mühle and Westfalenhaus made sure everything ran smoothly at the dish return stations.
We wrapped up the evening with our guests over a drink at sunset. It’s always a special joy every year to see our former roommates again and reminisce about the old days together. It’s wonderful to see that everyone enjoys coming back and that they cherished the time we spent together.
True to the saying “many hands make light work,” we got together on Sunday to clean up after the previous day. As it is every year, the time around the Fall Festival is marked for us by fellowship, togetherness, and, above all, shared joy. We’d like to thank everyone who helped out so enthusiastically, and we’re already looking forward to the next Fall Festival!
