Focused around the boathouse during the 5th and 6th grade spring run

, ,

In Formula 1, extra caution is required at the start. The same goes for the traditional spring race for Classes 5 and 6: On your marks—get set—go! And full concentration is needed to ensure that everyone in the tightly packed starting grid gets away without any collisions.

The lower-grade students ultimately put up a valiant effort and gave it their all during the race, as school athletic director Marcel Kalb reports. With support from the faculty, the event—whose course ran around the boathouse—was carried out smoothly, with plenty of applause, pats on the back, and the hope that, while not this time, they might be among the top runners at one of the next track and field meets.

Here are the results from the spring run:

Girls’ 5: Carlotta Porth (1st, 5:52), Lanah Reithmayer (2nd, 5:54), Paulina Venter (3rd, 5:58)
5-year-old boys: Julius Schröder (1st, 4:54), Levi Grimmelbein (2nd, 4:56), Jonas Meyer (3rd, 5:01)

Girls’ 6-person team: Caroline Hecker (1st, 5:17), Marlene Jerrentrup (2nd, 5:25), Juna Bamberger (3rd, 5:32)
