Sports & Recreation

At our school, free time at boarding school is a purposefully structured part of students’ lives

The Steinmühle campus, with its sports field, gyms, playgrounds, tennis courts, on-site riding stables, boathouse, and expansive open spaces and meadows, offers students a wide range of opportunities to burn off energy and test their limits, to strengthen themselves physically—and thereby mentally—and to grow.

The boarding school is an environment where young people not only learn but also grow as individuals. Our recreational education program offers a wide range of opportunities to support this growth—with time for relaxation, opportunities to take on responsibility, genuine experiences of community, and room to pursue their own interests.

Move. Create. Experience. Grow.

Find balance and recharge your batteries
After a busy school day, young people need exercise and conscious relaxation. Our regular extracurricular activities provide the perfect setting for this. Sport, exercise, and relaxation help clear the mind, reduce stress, and recharge – both physically and mentally.

Contributing Your Strengths and Taking on Responsibility
In the InnoClubs, young people actively help shape life at the boarding school. They organize projects, develop ideas, and take on responsibility for areas that are important to them. In doing so, they learn that their skills are needed and that they can make a difference.

A community that supports
Community is built through shared time. House evenings, dinner nights, weekend activities, and celebrations are integral parts of boarding school life. Here, friendships are formed, shared memories are created, and a strong sense of belonging develops.

Discovering and Pursuing Their Own Interests
At the same time, it’s important to us that young people shape their free time on their own terms. Whether through one of Marburg’s sports clubs, cultural activities, or their own projects—they learn to listen to their interests, forge their own paths, and develop independence.
This creates a boarding school life that gives young people the space they need—to settle in, to explore, and to grow.

The Steinmühle regularly offers a diverse range of extracurricular activities
