Admission to Steinmühle High School

Students typically transfer to Steinmühle High School in 5th grade and to the upper high school division in 11th grade. We invite you to inquire about 10th grade or other grade levels as well, if applicable. If there are no openings available, you can be placed on a waiting list.

Admissions Process for 5th Grade at the Gymnasium

Appointments for admissions interviews for the 2027–28 school year can be scheduled starting in September 2026.

Our admissions process for the incoming 5th grade takes place in three steps each year:

a parents’ information night in late October/early November
an information day for parents and children held the very next Saturday after the parent information night
A personal admission interview with a member of the school administration for parents and their child in November/December

At our no-obligation parents’ information evening, you will not only receive information about the exact dates and deadlines for the rest of the process, but also have the opportunity to ask questions about our program. During the information day, parents and children will have the chance to explore the Steinmühle grounds in groups.
In the subsequent admission interview, we would like to get to know you and your child. Please bring all of your child’s elementary school report cards to the appointment—both the originals and copies for our records.
You will be notified of the admission decision before the Christmas break.
