2018 State Quadrathlon in Erbach in the Odenwald

Jana Vollhardt and her team from the Marburg-Biedenkopf District Equestrian Association won the Hesse Championship in the four-event competition on March 10–11, 2018.

Thanks in no small part to the excellent preparation of both horse and rider—provided by Steinmühle trainer Beate Schridde, who also made her horse available for the competition—the 10th-grade student was able to secure victory with her team in a thrilling competition.

After the first day of competition, which featured dressage and the 3,000-meter run, Jana’s team was still in third place, but on the second day of competition, following excellent swim times and exceptionally strong jumping rounds, they confidently took the lead among all participating teams from Hesse by a significant margin.

With this victory, Jana and two of her teammates have qualified for the tryout camp in Alsfeld this coming weekend. That’s where it will be decided who will represent Hesse in the National Quadrathlon.

Another rider from RuS Steinmühle e.V., Aila Möschl, also made the trip to Erbach. The 10-year-old competed in the state junior quadrathlon and, with her mixed-gender team, achieved an impressive 12th-place finish.
