Lucas Schäfer Wins World Championship Qualifiers in Two Boat Classes
Lucas Schäfer, From RuS Steinmühle, the following athlete placed in the lightweight class:Together with his partner Alexander Diedrich from Treis-Karden and two other rowers from Münster at the 56th Ratzeburg International Rowing Regatta beating the national competition by more than 10 seconds to take first place. This means that The four secured their spots at the U23 World Championships, which will be held in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, at the end of July.
Lucas also had an easy time of it in the qualifying race for the lightweight coxless pair and went on to win that event on Sunday against national competition. With these performances, his RuS coach Martin Strohmenger Lucas will be in one of the boats at the next Olympics.

At the International Junior Regatta in Hamburg the Hesse Junior B eight made a name for itself with an impressive second-place finish. Among those in the boat was Leon Sauer (9c). With this performance, the boat moved up to second place in the rankings of German junior eights.
The results of the latest RuS talent were also encouraging Dustin Brömer (7c).
