A music class with a difference: Clueso teaches in front of an enthusiastic class at Steinmühle

,

Patrizia Kühn from class 10a at Steinmühle had an idea: Let’s vote in the “planet star school” contest and get to experience the most famous music teacher anyone could ever have: Clueso. Of course, you’ll also be able to get autographs, take selfies with him, and hear his songs performed unplugged—at least that’s what Planet Radio promises.

It wasn’t hard to convince the school administration of the idea, so there was a lot of voting, and soon it was clear that Steinmühle had won by a landslide, prevailing over 300 schools and four other finalists.

A few hours after the start of the school break, he finally arrived—the “star” who had just released “Stadtrandlichter,” the current No. 1 on the album charts. But he wasn’t some aloof “star” with airs and graces; instead, he was a likable musician who, through his openness, quick wit, and charisma; as a “teacher,” he quickly connected with his young audience and impressed not only the students but also the teachers with a few musical performances. Clueso answered all the questions posed to him, rapped along to a beatbox performance by student Luca, obliged a student’s request for a breakdancing interlude, and played some of his songs unplugged. Clueso was particularly impressive as a “freestyler,” incorporating words like “Marburg” or “Steinmühle” into his rap on the spot, or skillfully weaving lyrics and melody into student Christian’s guitar playing. The atmosphere was outstanding, a fact that Planet Radio hosts Franzen and Leni emphasized time and again.

At the end of the event, Clueso took plenty of time for his audience: he signed autographs and posed for selfies. By this point, at the very latest, it was clear that he had completely captivated his fans with his musical performance at the Steinmühle. They now have the opportunity to see him on his European tour. The tour kicks off on October 25, and he’ll be performing in Frankfurt a month later. We wouldn’t be surprised if plenty of Steinmühle students were in the audience.

Thanks to Planet Radio and thanks to Clueso for a fantastic afternoon and the best start to fall break you could imagine!
