Tennis at the Steinmühle

For Steinmühle, sports are a crucial component of both the day school and the boarding school. Rowing and horseback riding are already well-established and successful programs on our campus, with their own clubs. In addition, we have partnerships with blista for judo, with Blau-Gelb Marburg for soccer and volleyball, and with BC Marburg for basketball.

The beautiful tennis facility on our Steinmühle grounds had been left unused for many years. After the school and boarding school were merged, everyone agreed that this “jewel” in the southern part of Steinmühle needed to be brought back to life.

We have made the following preparations for the reopening of our tennis facility:

The old tennis clubhouse was renovated and converted into an attractive student café.
The two clay courts were renovated, and an automatic irrigation system was installed.
The artificial turf field has been restored and is now used for pickleball, among other things.
The floodlight system was equipped with modern LED technology, allowing games to be played even in the evening.
Investments have been made in modern tennis equipment, such as a ball machine and the KITRIS video system.

Last summer, we launched a partnership with Play The Pro. Play The Pro, a Marburg-based company led by Heiko Hampl, organizes various LK and DTB tournaments, among other things.

Here are the amenities you can expect at our new tennis facility:

Offer 1: Group tennis lessons with an instructor

(Enrollment in ongoing courses available upon request)

April 13 – October 2 (19 sessions, 60 minutes each) = 329 euros.**

We are offering these courses to students at Steinmühle and, for the first time, to the students’ parents and relatives as well .

There are no practices during summer break and on holidays.

**The price also includes 3 LK tournaments. (Value: 120 euros)

We’ll train you to become tournament players. Don’t worry—it’s not about how well you play, but about making sure you feel capable and confident in competition. Everyone at their own level. Each training session includes both practice and theory. We’ll give you everything you need to navigate the world of tennis with confidence, both on and off the court.

Session 1: July 13–17

Session 2: July 20–24

Session 3: July 27–31

Daily from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., including lunch

Children and teenagers can be dropped off starting at 9:30 a.m.
