New Riding Arena for Better Conditions
Completely renovated to measure 20 by 60 meters, it is undoubtedly a visual asset: the new riding arena of the Steinmühle Riding Club. The company Heus Reitplatzbau from Elz carried out the work here, transforming the old arena into a space that offers better conditions for the school horses, their riders, and all users. A herd of six Shetland ponies, including their youngest foal—just six months old—roams the arena here, along with four ponies and seven full-sized horses.
The project was spearheaded and primarily funded by the Steinmühle Riding Club. In addition, grants were provided by the state, the district, the city, and the State Sports Federation. The Sparkasse Marburg-Biedenkopf, S&S Immobilien, and Begro supported the riding arena renovation with donations.
Thanks to the new facility, riding hours are more flexible, and riders have more opportunities to tailor their riding time to their individual needs. Riders now have access to a jumping arena and a dressage arena, which means they are less likely to “get in each other’s way,” confirm riding instructor and trainer Beate Schridde and Olivia Vollhardt, president of the Steinmühle Riding and Sports Club. Both are pleased to now be able to offer further improved opportunities for training horses and riders.
