Uncertainties, crises, and even setbacks are part of this journey. We do not view such phases as failures, but rather as important steps in our development.
In a supportive and reliable environment, young people can learn to cope with challenges and gain confidence in their own development.

InnoClubs – Take on responsibility. Contribute your strengths. Shape life at boarding school.

The InnoClubs are a central part of life at our boarding school. They offer young people the opportunity to contribute their own ideas, take on responsibility, and actively help shape life at the boarding school. Unlike short-term projects, the InnoClubs are designed for the long term. This creates a reliable framework in which young people can grow, discover their strengths, and act with increasing independence. In the process, they develop self-reliance, teamwork skills, organizational skills, and confidence in their own abilities. Our educational staff guide this process and support the young people on their journey toward personal responsibility.

Currently, there are the following InnoClubs:

Culture & Music

This InnoClub offers young people the opportunity to contribute their artistic and creative interests. Whether it’s theater, film, or cultural events—this club develops activities that enrich boarding school life and foster a sense of community. This club is particularly well-suited for young people who enjoy art, the stage, film, or cultural expression.

Café Mühle

CaféMühle is a dining and social gathering spot on the boarding school grounds, near the tennis court, run by young people. Here, they organize the activities and create a welcoming atmosphere for the community. The club is ideal for young people who enjoy organizing, taking on responsibility, and actively developing a place where people can come together.

Content Creators Club

In the Content Creators Club, young people shape how boarding school life is portrayed in the media. They take photos, shoot videos, and write posts, offering authentic insights into everyday life at the boarding school. This club is especially geared toward young people who are interested in media, design, and creative communication.

Peer Tutoring

In the Peer Tutoring Club, young people help others with their studies and work together to develop new ideas for supporting learning. In the process, they take responsibility for one another and strengthen the culture of learning at the boarding school. This club is particularly well-suited for young people who want to share their knowledge and support others.

Events & Design

This InnoClub organizes events, designs spaces, and develops ideas for community life at the boarding school. Here, young people create special experiences and actively contribute to the boarding school’s atmosphere. The club is ideal for anyone who enjoys planning, working creatively, and bringing the community to life.

Boarding School Council

The Boarding School Council consists of representatives from all residential groups. They elect two Boarding School Council spokespersons and represent the interests of the students at the boarding school. In doing so, they take on responsibility, contribute ideas, and initiate changes that further improve life at the boarding school.

The InnoClubs make the boarding school a place where young people not only live and learn, but can also get involved, take on responsibility, and surpass their own limits.

We believe in personal responsibility

The educational approach at the school and boarding school is based on personal responsibility and trust. The educators at Steinmühle fundamentally believe in the students’ strengths and their capacity for achievement and growth. They trust students to acquire knowledge independently and in groups (project work), to study, review, and deepen their understanding of course material on their own (Learning Office), and to overcome challenges as a group (class council, mediation).
