Steinmühle’s tennis team qualifies for the state championship
In Gensungen, the Steinmühle tennis team wins the WK II regional championship and, in its very first appearance, earns a spot in “Youth Trains for the Olympics” , they qualified for the state finals.
The first game against the Old State School in Korbach Our team handled the challenge with ease and clearly dominated the match. They didn’t lose a single one of their seven singles or doubles matches. The motivation they gained from this victory also spurred the players on in their second match against the Melanchthon School in Steinatal to secure the win. However, Steinmühle found itself trailing 1–2 after the first three games and was fighting for every point. The rain that had started to fall grew increasingly heavy, so an early cancellation would have been decisive for the outcome of the match. In the end, Steinmühle won 3 of the next 4 matches. Tim Thumberger’s close match, in particular, kept the team on edge until the very end. The team’s joy at qualifying for the state finals in Offenbach was immense.
Congratulations—a great achievement!
