Steinmühle Riders on the Path to Success
Under sunny skies but with wintry temperatures, the third qualifying rounds for the Ring Tournament (riders aged 15 and older) and the Youth Cup (riders aged 14 and younger) took place last weekend at the Steinmühle Boarding School.
As part of the District Equestrian Association’s youth programs, so-called “ring tournaments” and youth cups are held annually. Several clubs form a “ring” with their teams, in which each club takes turns hosting the event and providing the horses. This is a welcome opportunity for young riders to get a taste of competition before the season begins.
Following their successful debut at the first ring tournament in January, the Steinmühle team once again showed themselves to be in top form, but fell just 3 tenths short of victory and finished narrowly behind the Sterzhausen Riding Club. The team from Rauschenberg secured third place, and the team from Wehrda finished just 3 tenths behind them.
The Steinmühle Youth Cup team held its own and was delighted to take first place in dressage, followed by Sterzhausen, Mengsberg, and Wehrda. (Show jumping is not part of the Youth Cup.)
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to all participants!
The final will take place in Wehrda in March.
