Terms and Conditions of the International High School

1. General Information

Steinmühle is a state-recognized, privately operated school. The school is operated by Steinmühle Marburg e.V., Steinmühlenweg 21, 35043 Marburg—represented by the board of directors Egon Vaupel and Gerhard Müller (VR 730—registered with the Marburg Local Court).

2. Enrollment Agreement

Students may be admitted to the Steinmühle International High School if their parents or other legal guardians submit written applications for admission to the school administration. The school administration decides on admission.

3. Terms and Conditions

  • The contract may be terminated by either party with three months’ notice, effective July 31. Notice of termination must be received no later than April 30.
  • If a student leaves the school without observing the specified notice period, the school’s right to payment of the outstanding tuition remains unaffected until the end of the contractual term.
  • The foregoing rules apply without prejudice to the mutual right to terminate the contractual relationship for good cause. Good cause may include, for example, repeated violations of the school rules. If extraordinary termination is required due to a student’s conduct, the entitlement to payment of tuition fees shall not cease until the date on which the contractual relationship would have ended had the contractual notice periods been observed.
  • If a student is required, under applicable school regulations, to leave the school during the school year, the entire contractual relationship shall end at the end of the month in which the legal impossibility of continuing to attend school is legally established and announced.

4. School Conditions

School conditions are governed by the provisions of the Hessian School Act applicable to state-recognized alternative schools and the associated regulations.

To be admitted to the Steinmühle International High School, students must meet the admission requirements set forth in school regulations. Admission is conditional until the required proof of measles vaccination is provided.

5. School Tuition

  • To attend the Steinmühle International High School, you must pay a one-time admission fee (waived for students of the Steinmühle Bilingual Elementary School), tuition, and a meal fee (mandatory for grades 5 and 6). Please refer to our website for the current school fees: www.steinmuehle.de/service.
  • Tuition and meal fees are monthly payments due in advance at the beginning of each month. The school year begins on August 1 and ends on July 31 of the following year.
  • Invoices are issued in two installments: 5/12 of the annual premium on August 1, and 7/12 of the annual premium on January 1. Monthly payments are made either by direct debit or by bank transfer.
  • If the contracting party falls behind on school fees by an amount equal to or exceeding two monthly installments, the school is entitled to terminate the contract without notice. Even in this case, the agreed-upon fees must be paid through the end of the contract term.
  • The school reserves the right to adjust tuition and meal fees to reflect increased costs. Any increases will be announced at least three months before they take effect.
