What People Are Saying About the Steinmühle

Experience it. Share it. Steinmühle!

What makes Steinmühle special? The best people to tell you are those who experience it every day. Students, parents, alumni, and staff share their very personal experiences, special moments, and the things that stick with them. Their voices show Steinmühle from different perspectives—personal, authentic, and intimate. After all, what makes our community special can’t be described in words alone. Sometimes you just have to let the stories speak for themselves.

“I wouldn’t want to have missed my years at Steinmühle. If I weren’t 40 by now, I’d definitely enroll there again. The years of full-day school, in particular, shaped me and, as an only child, turned me into a team player. I really enjoyed being out in nature and the after-school clubs at lunchtime, and the close student-teacher relationship was definitely something special. Thanks to my parents for making this possible for me.”

“My time at Steinmühle remains unforgettable to this day. Suddenly, even school became something I enjoyed, and so—much to the amazement of my former teachers—I managed to earn a perfectly decent high school diploma. But that wasn’t the most important thing; rather, it was the formative influence on my personality, the feeling of being taken seriously with all my weaknesses and strengths. And then, of course, there was the opportunity to step onto the famous stage for the first time—a stage that would mean the world to me, but also serve as the foundation of my life. Thanks to the Steinmühle and to my parents, who made this possible for me.”

“The sense of community and responsibility for one another had a particularly strong influence on Shira while she was at boarding school. That’s where she really learned how to work as part of a team and developed her social skills.”

“The Steinmühle has had a very positive impact on our son. He has become more mature, more self-confident, and more independent. We really liked that the school and boarding school are down-to-earth and practical. The educational approach won us over. At the Steinmühle, Gianluca has developed a deep sense of self-confidence and trust in his abilities.”

“For me, Steinmühle is not only a place where I was able to further my education, but also a home characterized by a wonderful, family-like atmosphere. At the boarding school, I not only had the opportunity to learn German, but I also built valuable relationships. The school gave me the chance to grow and pursue a dual degree program. I’m grateful for that!”

“At Steinmühle, various clubs and extracurricular activities gave me the chance to try out and regularly practice things I enjoyed without any pressure—from art to new sports. I miss it now, just writing about it….”

“My time at Steinmühle was absolutely formative for my personal and future development. I am happy, grateful, and extremely proud to have been part of the boarding school community for such a long time, and I would choose this path again in a heartbeat. I appreciate the exceptionally strong ties between the school and the boarding school and the intensive support that resulted from them … I quickly realized that my strengths [especially in rowing] were alsonurtured.Forme, both the school and the boarding school are—and always have been—my family.”
