First, second, and third places for RuS Steinmühle at the Hessian Rowing Championships

At the 40th Hesse Championships on Lake Werratal in Eschwege, Lucas Schäfer confirmed his outstanding progress this year by winning the men’s single sculls title. Lucas beat the entire field of competitors from Hesse. Coach Martin Strohmenger was extremely pleased with his protégé’s performance.

Lorena Heinemann also had a strong race in the women’s lightweight single sculls. She rowed a technically and tactically sound race and finished as the runner-up in the Hessian championships behind the winner from Großauheim.
Lukas Drösch and Niclas Mägerlein competed in the lightweight junior double sculls A and took the bronze medal. They got off to a blistering start and were firmly in the lead after two-thirds of the course. Only then did they have to let the reigning German Youth Champion from Höchst pass them, and, looking slightly resigned, they subsequently let the second-place finisher pass as well.
