In 8th grade, a school ski course takes place in Mayrhofen. All students in this grade spend a week at the “Gschösswandhaus” and learn to ski or snowboard.
Children and teens of all ages can play during recess on the grass field, the two artificial turf fields, the multipurpose field, and the basketball court in front of the gym. The “Active Recess” program takes place in the gym during the winter and outdoors in the summer. Equipment such as waveboards, speedminton, badminton, and ball games is available for checkout.
The Steinmühle has a fitness room that is large enough to accommodate an entire class. In addition to being used for physical education classes, the room is primarily used by our competitive rowers for training.
In high school, physical education is one of our core subjects. As early as the introductory phase, interested students are introduced to the subject “Sports Theory” in what is known as the “profile preparation course,” where they also meet their future advanced physical education teacher. Physical education is then offered as an advanced course starting in the qualification phase. As a basic course, physical education is taught in the first year of the qualification phase (Q1 and Q2) within the class group (profile). In the second year of the qualification phase (Q3 and Q4), physical education classes are offered as electives in various areas of physical activity.
