Steinm\u00fchle mourns the loss of G\u00fcnter Eschenbrenner (Jan. 21, 1956 \u2013 June 2, 2026).<\/strong><\/p>\n

From 1988 until his retirement in 2022, G\u00fcnter Eschenbrenner taught Latin and Ethics at Steinm\u00fchle.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

His goal was to give philosophy a prominent place within the Steinm\u00fchle. In both Latin and ethics classes, his dedication was particularly appreciated by those students who take pleasure in thinking through complex ideas in depth. <\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

As part of the elective curriculum, G\u00fcnter Eschenbrenner taught calligraphy courses with great success. The work of his students\u2014which is characterized by its aesthetic appeal, precision, and overall harmony\u2014still adorns some of the hallways in our school buildings today. <\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

G\u00fcnter Eschenbrenner\u2019s sense of humor will also be remembered: Whether a sharp, dry remark was meant as a provocation to liven up the discussion or was pure irony, his conversation partners often only realized this when he broke into a reassuring smile.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Toward the end of his tenure, G\u00fcnter Eschenbrenner suffered a severe stroke from which he was never able to fully recover. He passed away on Tuesday, June 2, 2026. <\/p>\n
