Things didn’t go very well for the young Steinm\u00fchle girls’ basketball team in the tournament. Still, they managed to win at least one of their games. Coach Marc Bepperling reports: <\/p>\n

With expectations that weren\u2019t quite as high, we started this year in WK III\u2014one competitive division higher\u2014with the former WK IV team. Some of the girls could have still competed in WK IV this year, but we decided not to split up the team. Looking ahead, this will allow us to work specifically toward success in WK III over the next few years. <\/p>\n

Consequently, our results against teams that were significantly stronger physically were quite devastating. We lost to Gymnasium Philippinum 08\u201340. MLS won 38\u201319. And Elisabethschule, which went on to win the tournament, defeated us 53\u201306. <\/p>\n

In the most important game of the day, against a team that was roughly our equal in terms of physical strength, we faced the Europaschule Gladenbach. In a thrilling, closely contested match, we managed to prevail 23\u201320 in overtime after the score was tied at 20\u201320. <\/p>\n

Overall, this meant we finished in 4th place in the tournament. With a bit of sadness, we look ahead to the coming years in WK III. Special thanks go to Hannah Hartmann from the 13th grade for her volunteer work and support during the competition. <\/p>\n
