As has been the case almost every year for the past five decades, students, parents, teachers, alumni, and numerous guests celebrated their fall festival in traditionally pleasant late-summer weather with an entertaining program that, together with music from the StoneMill House Band, the brass ensemble, the Wever Singers, and the Couch-Potatoes, as well as the usual culinary delights, ensured plenty of conviviality.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

This year, Steinm\u00fchle enjoyed an exceptionally high level of popularity. The two principals welcomed four of their predecessors, who were impressed by the progress made at \u201ctheir Steinm\u00fchle.\u201d <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The big hits in this year’s Fall Festival program, in addition to the <\/span>“Beat Lucas” Ergometer Competition<\/b><\/span>, the <\/span>Climbing Wall<\/b><\/span> in the gym, the <\/span>Waveboarding<\/b><\/span>, the <\/span>Obstacle Course<\/b><\/span>, and that <\/span>Vaulting and Pony Rides<\/b><\/span>.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

There was plenty of activity<\/b><\/span> at the Rudern und Sport (RuS) club\u2019s booth. To give visitors a glimpse into the winter training routine of the active members, the <\/span>participation in the \u201cErgo Cup\u201d<\/b><\/span> , and the female and male participants with the best times ultimately competed against RuS top rower <\/span>Lucas Sch\u00e4fer, a member of the World Championship squad<\/b><\/span>, on the ergometer. Participants who achieved good results took home T-shirts and other prizes as souvenirs.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The highlight of this year’s festival, however, was the <\/span>opening of the new adventure playground, which was built during the summer break<\/b><\/span> (the <\/span>OP<\/b><\/span> reported on this on September 25, 2014). The students were now officially allowed to take possession of the many new pieces of equipment and play areas surrounding their \u201cold climbing spider.\u201d With the creation of this adventure park, Steinm\u00fchle, with its <\/span> cultural<\/b><\/span> and <\/span>mathematics and natural sciences track <\/b><\/span>as well as the <\/span>importance of sports<\/b><\/span> for the school.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The <\/span>christening of a new boat named “Black Pearl”<\/b><\/span> was performed by City Councilwoman Dr. Kerstin Weinbach. The 11,000-euro racing boat, financed by donations, public funding, and funds from the fledgling club, is another step toward completing the club\u2019s fleet. In light of the significant growth in membership and the increasing success of our rowers, this investment ensures we have the right boats to meet our needs.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Many <\/span>former students<\/b><\/span> made their way to the Steinm\u00fchle again this year. They gathered in the evening to celebrate late into the night.
