{"id":45992,"date":"2014-09-24T06:28:40","date_gmt":"2014-09-24T04:28:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/test.steinmuehle.de\/blog\/2014\/09\/24\/steinmuehlen-rowers-at-a-regatta-in-grossauheim\/"},"modified":"2026-06-18T15:25:19","modified_gmt":"2026-06-18T13:25:19","slug":"steinmuehlen-rowers-at-a-regatta-in-grossauheim","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/steinmuehle.de\/en\/blog\/2014\/09\/24\/steinmuehlen-rowers-at-a-regatta-in-grossauheim\/","title":{"rendered":"Steinm\u00fchlen Rowers at a Regatta in Gro\u00dfauheim"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #000000\"><span style=\"font-size: medium\"><b>A very successful showing with four first-place finishes and one second-place finish<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">RuS athletes claimed <b>four first-place finishes<\/b> in the 500-meter race at the 42nd Grossauheim Short-Distance Rowing Regatta. <b>Niclas M\u00e4gerlein (lightweight junior A single scull)<\/b>, <b>Lorena Heinemann and her partner Phine Sch\u00fctt in the women\u2019s double scull<\/b>, and <b>Leon Sauer in the junior B single scull<\/b> all followed in the footsteps of <b>Lucas Sch\u00e4fer in the men\u2019s single scull<\/b> and deservedly added their names to the list of winners. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\"><b>Lukas Dr\u00f6sch (Lightweight Junior A Single Scull)<\/b> put in a strong performance and, after leading for much of the race, was ultimately defeated in a thrilling race only by top sculler Wolf Eckhard from Wetzlar, who ranks among the top six in Germany in this class.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">The youngest members of the Steinm\u00fchle team\u2014two of whom are just ten years old\u2014performed remarkably well in the quadruple sculls for the 13-and-under age group. Although they weren\u2019t able to contend for the win, they managed to finish ahead of one other quadruple scull on their first day. <b>Sebastian W\u00f6hr<\/b>, <b>Johannes Vollhardt<\/b>, <b>Benett Meier<\/b>, and <b>Dustin Br\u00f6mer<\/b>, with <b>coxswain Viktor Zovko<\/b>, gave it their all to follow in the footsteps of the \u201cbig names.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">Coach Martin Strohmenger: &#8220;We achieved what we set out to do. The younger players should learn a thing or two from their very successful teammates. This marks the start of the new 2015 season.&#8221;  <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">After the Hesse Championships, the team will head <b>to the Hesse Rowing Association\u2019s training camp<\/b> in Eschwege <b>during the fall break<\/b>. State coach Harald Blum has invited <b>four promising young athletes<\/b> \u2014Leon Sauer, Min-Joon Kang, Julia Wolf, and Melina Walter\u2014 <b>to the tryout camp<\/b>. During the week, they\u2019ll hit the weight room, lace up their running shoes, and get on the ergometers. On the weekends, they\u2019ll train at the water training center in Gie\u00dfen.
