That was awesome! The Steinm\u00fchle team returned from the tournament at the sports hall at Georg-Gassmann Stadium with a first-place finish in the district basketball finals as part of the \u201cYouth Trains for the Olympics\u201d competition (Competition Class II, boys). <\/p>\n

“It was clear from the start that the tournament would be decided by the first two games,” says Marc Bepperling, one of the two coaches. Based on their performances in recent years, the Elisabethschule and the Gymnasium Philippinum were considered the favorites. <\/p>\n

With a victory over an injury-plagued Elisabethschule team, the Steinm\u00fchle team got off to a strong start in the tournament. Despite a two-hour break after their first victory, the Steinm\u00fchle team carried that winning momentum into their second game against the Philippinum. After taking an early 6\u20130 lead, the team managed to maintain that momentum and left the field victorious. <\/p>\n

According to Marc Bepperling, the biggest hurdles were successfully overcome thanks to strong teamwork and excellent individual performances.<\/p>\n

Despite facing unexpectedly strong opponents from the Gladenbach Europaschule, the third game still came down to the wire in the end. With great tenacity and unwavering focus, Steinm\u00fchle also defeated the Mittelpunktschule Hartenrod in the final game. <\/p>\n

According to school sports coordinator Michael Neirich, Steinm\u00fchle has thus qualified for the regional finals on December 13 in Marburg.<\/p>\n
