This year, a total of 70 students in grades 5\u20139 participated in the Germany-wide <\/span>Pangea Math Competition<\/b><\/span> .<\/span><\/p>\n

The Pangea Math Competition is a Germany-wide math competition for students in grades 3 through 10 that has been held annually since 2007. It is organized by the Pangea Wettbewerbe e. V. association in Wiesbaden. Federal Minister Johanna Wanka of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research has been the patron of the math competition since October 2013. <\/span><\/p>\n

Our students had to solve a total of 25 problems of varying difficulty. We\u2019re pleased to report that 10 of them advanced to the next round and <\/span>are now among the top 500 in their grade across all of Germany<\/b><\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

They are: Elisa Muth (5a), Jan Audretsch (5b), Vanessa Gold (6c), Justus Schneider (8a), Carolin Mauersberger (8b), Bodam Lee (8b), Konradin Kienle-Betzler (8b), Samuel Kempkes (8c), Roman Kryczka (8c), and Felix Farsch (9c).<\/span><\/p>\n

On May 9, the intermediate round took place in Gie\u00dfen, in which nearly all of the students mentioned above participated and achieved consistently good and very good results. <\/span>Jan Audretsch<\/b><\/span> and <\/span>Carolin Mauersberger<\/b><\/span> even qualified for the regional finals on June 13 in Frankfurt, and <\/span>are now among the top 10 in their grade<\/b><\/span>. We wish them the best of luck.<\/span>
\nMath Contest for 8th Grade<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

The Steinm\u00fchle School once again participated in this year’s Hessian Math Competition for 8th graders. The following students took the top three places: <\/span><\/p>\n

School Winner: Carolin Mauersberger (8b)<\/span><\/p>\n

2nd place: Bastian Sasse (8a)<\/span><\/p>\n

3rd place: Justus Schneider and Lasse Zimmer (8a)<\/span><\/p>\n
