{"id":43234,"date":"2015-04-28T06:13:16","date_gmt":"2015-04-28T04:13:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/test.steinmuehle.de\/blog\/2015\/04\/28\/politics-firsthand-lawmakers-share-insights-on-the-practical-side-of-politics\/"},"modified":"2026-06-18T15:26:30","modified_gmt":"2026-06-18T13:26:30","slug":"politics-firsthand-lawmakers-share-insights-on-the-practical-side-of-politics","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/steinmuehle.de\/en\/blog\/2015\/04\/28\/politics-firsthand-lawmakers-share-insights-on-the-practical-side-of-politics\/","title":{"rendered":"Politics Firsthand\u2014Lawmakers Share Insights on the Practical Side of Politics"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">On April 20 and 27, 2015, the 11th-grade students taking political science courses had the opportunity to learn a bit about how politics works.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">Dr. Thomas Spies, a member of the state parliament and SPD mayoral candidate, and Dr. Stefan Heck, a CDU member of the Bundestag, each spent two hours answering questions from the students.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">Both willingly shared details about their careers, their motivations for entering politics, and the day-to-day realities of a lawmaker\u2019s work. Both elected officials did a very good job of coming across as authentic and conveying a positive image of the political profession. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">After brief introductions, all questions were addressed in detail.
