For the first time, a girls’ team from Steinm\u00fchle competed in the district soccer tournament, and it was a great start!<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

With Finja Gr\u00fcn, Nelly Endres, and Ana Catalina Pohl, the Steinm\u00fchlen team had outstanding players who ensured our team played cohesively and scored goals. In the end, we finished in a solid 4th place, which\u2014given the short preparation time (we were only able to train once for half an hour beforehand)\u2014is definitely a success. <\/p>\n

About the games:<\/p>\n

In the first game against Stiftsschule Am\u00f6neburg, the team secured a 2\u20131 victory thanks to goals by Finja Gr\u00fcn and Ana Catalina Pohl.<\/p>\n

In the second game against MPS Hartenrod, Ana Catalina Pohl once again scored the goal that tied the game at 1\u20131. However, the team lost the game 1\u20132 after a defensive error. <\/p>\n

The third and final group match ended in a narrow 1-0 victory for Gesamtschule Ebsdorfer Grund, which went on to win the group in commanding fashion.<\/p>\n

The Steinm\u00fchle team reached the semifinals, but in that game they had to concede defeat to the girls from Lahntalschule Biedenkopf. The game was a clear victory for Lahntalschule, which had a very well-coordinated team and went on to win the tournament. <\/p>\n

In the match for 3rd and 4th place against Gesamtschule Ebsdorfer Grund, it was clear that our students had expended a great deal of energy through their selfless play in the previous matches and were lacking in concentration. Thus, the 0\u20133 loss was only to be expected. <\/p>\n

Overall, all the players who took the field showed great dedication and had a lot of fun. There is definitely a desire to play together again soon and to field a team again next year without a doubt. Our team was expertly coached by Lothar Potthoff, the former principal of Ebsdorfer Grund Comprehensive School, who now leads the Niederweimar\/Haddamshausen sports club. <\/p>\n
