After nearly 23 years, he has been looking for new challenges\u2014and has found them. <\/p>\n<p>On September 15, principals Bj\u00f6rn Gemmer and Bernd Holly, along with student representative Jannes K\u00fchn, bid farewell to Bernd Schumertl on behalf of the school community. They expressed their regret at his departure and their deep gratitude for his many years of service in the school kitchen. <\/p>\n<p>Schumertl has accomplished a great deal at the Steinm\u00fchle:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>He has made us forget the days when complaining about bad food was a common figure of speech.<\/li>\n<li>He has managed to strike the perfect balance between affordable meals and high satisfaction with the menu.<\/li>\n<li>He was always genuinely interested in engaging in dialogue with the students.<\/li>\n<li>He knew how to streamline the meal-serving process, so that the dining room at the Steinm\u00fchle was known for its pleasant and sociable atmosphere.<\/li>\n<li>Ultimately, he also received significant recognition \u201cfrom outside,\u201d including from the German Nutrition Society, which awarded the Steinm\u00fchlenk\u00fcche its Premium Certificate in 2013\u2014making it the first school in Hesse and the second in Germany to receive this honor.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a name=\"_GoBack\"><\/a>  The students and faculty would like to thank him for this and wish him all the best in his future personal and professional endeavors!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It is with great regret that students and teachers must accept that Mr. Schumertl will no longer be the head chef at the Steinm\u00fchle starting in October.
